DUBAI: Pakistan bowlers captured nine wickets as England reached 237 on the pen-ultimate day of the third and final Test match here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
For Pakistan, off-break bowler Saeed Ajmal bagged three wickets for 44 runs while paceman Umar Gul claimed two for 31 and left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman took one wicket.
England added 84 runs in the second session losing four more wickets and they are now still 151 runs away from the victory target of 324 set by Pakistan with Matt Prior at the crease on ten and Stuart Broad not out on four.
To avoid a 3-0 series whitewash, England will have to record their second-highest second innings run chase after they made 332 to beat Australia in 1928.
Should Pakistan claim victory in the third test they would become the first side for more than 100 years to score fewer than 100 in their first innings but go on to win the Test.
